Our Story
The StairSteady was first
designed by Ruth as part of her GCSE Resistant Materials Course.
Initially aimed at stroke rehabilitation, Ruth saw a need for people
to remain active and mobile. After her teacher's father suffered a
stroke, Ruth was set the challenge of designing a product which
would allow people to keep using their stairs, but in a safe
environment.
The StairSteady took off when Ruth
competed against thousands of applicants to win the Young Engineer for
Britain 2006. With the help of Advanced Engineering Techniques Ltd in
2008, Ruth was able to bring the benefits of the StairSteady to the
wider marketplace.
Since then Ruth has become
internationally recognised for the StairSteady solution and StairSteady
Ltd, achieving the accolade of youngest person ever to be on Management
Today's '35 women under 35' list and winning the first ever Women of the
Future 'Young Star' Award.
StairSteady Ltd is still
based around the original StairSteady product and its founding moral
core values. The business is still run as a family team but it is now
established within the Mobility field. StairSteady now sells to a wide
range of customers including: individuals, organisations such as the
NHS, local County Councils, Social Services, Mobility Shops, Housing
Associations and Schools.
StairSteady now has partner firms within the
UK including firms in Bristol and Widnes although we are currently in
negotiations with other companies so this network will expand soon.

StairSteady have listened to customer feedback and have
acted upon this by developing their new extended range, this will give
customers a wide choice of finish options allowing it to completely meet
each individuals needs. This will be launched in March 2011.

coated rail and handle and has rubber end caps.
